Adulting Must Haves from Amazon


Every time I watch HGTV (so, all day every day, basically) or scroll through my Pinterest feed, I get all of the "gimme my own house/apartment/space" feels! And if we're being perfectly honest, you and I both know that adulting is HARD. All of those times we spent wishing we were older at the age of 10 - can we take those back?! Between all of the bills, decisions to make, personal life and everything else that comes along with being a 20-or-30-something, life can be hectic. Even if you aren't living out on your own yet, there's still tons of ways to make the adulting process easier. Here's what's on my list:

1, 2, 3. Step Stool, Tupperware Set, Can Opener: three of the main essentials you need but will likely forget for a new place!

4. Knife Set: have you ever seen such a pretty set of knives?! I love this acrylic holder they come in, and if you're as obsessed with acrylic storage as I am you'll love these too! They're highly rated and can you really complain when you can have them via Amazon Prime in 2 days? ;)

5. Steamer: this is my very favorite steamer! It works SO well (and quick!) and it's easy to pack for trips too. This is the one and only thing you need to have your clothes look put together at home AND when you're away! It's the best one I've ever used and under $30.

6. Amazon Echo Dot: need to add something to your to-do list? Your grocery list? Want to play music or have a question for Google? You guys hear me talk a LOT about the Amazon Echo; it's by far my favorite electronic! I love the dot version because it's small and you can place it anywhere in your home.

7. PUR Water Filter Faucet: I know there's a lot of brands that provide water filtration but I am SO picky about my water, as weird as it sounds, and this PUR faucet extension is the only one I've tried and loved! Even if you live somewhere that you can drink tap water, it isn't always the best. Or maybe I'm extra picky, not sure. ;) I can always tell the difference in branded bottles, but having a filter like this saves you money on buying bottles and the water is extremely pure and refreshing. It's super inexpensive too!

8. Home Security System: this is hands down *the* most important adulting item to buy, especially if you live alone. There's millions to choose from - I love this one and how compact it is - but no matter which it is, make sure you have one!

9. Dyson Vacuum: I know this is a pricey one, but I've had my Dyson vacuum for years and it still works like new! And who wouldn't want a vacuum in this pretty pink color?! LOL - it's available on Amazon here, but if you buy it from Target, you can get a protection plan!

10. Instant Pot: we're young, we're busy and most of the time that means that cooking can come last on the list of priorities on any given day. I looove my Instant Pot; there's so many incredible recipes to make with it and there's nothing better than your house smelling good for hours!

11. 11: having a nice, full set of dinnerware is important to have to use when guests are over. I have some colorful plates and bowls but my nicer set is white. This set of dinnerware is one of my favorites, but this set is from Amazon and it's extremely similar.

I know adulting can be difficult and nerve wracking, but that's what Amazon is for, right?! ;) Happy shopping (and adulting - you got this!)

  1. Girl I am the same way about my water! We run off well water so it is a lot cleaner to drink than some other sources and I still won't drink out of the faucet!

  13. I totally agree with these recommendations. I used to have that same rice cooker/instant pot and recently upgraded but LOVED that one for a few years. It makes learning to cook a little easier for someone as untalented in the kitchen as me haha.

  15. YASSSS to adulting! Okay, I've wanted that cordless Dyson for forever, but I'm waiting for my old vacuum to die first. (Maybe I'll just give it a few kicks and throw it down the stairs. :P) Love #7 too! I usually just drink out of the tap but it would be better to use a filter.
