Liebster Award!

I'm so honored to say that Jess at A Spoonful of Delight nominated me for a Liebster Award! Her blog is wonderful and it's so exciting to have been nominated! This award is an award that gets passed around the blogging community to those who have fewer than 200 followers (new bloggers) to help expand the blogging friendships and community! Jess gave me some super fun questions to answer - read on to find out what they are!


1. What inspires you to blog?: Knowing that people enjoy and read my posts is such an amazing feeling - I love posting about things I'm passionate about and making friends in this awesome world of blogging makes it even more fun!
2. List 3 words that make you happy: Appreciation, bliss, bright
3. Tea or coffee? Do you take cream and/or sugar?: I cannot get into drinking coffee at ALL...and am not much of a tea drinker, but if I do, it's a passion tea from Starbucks with two pumps of sweetener!
4. What’s your favorite candy bar?: Definitely Hershey's!
5. If you could be a character from a book or movie, who would you be?: I would love to be Rachel from Friends, I know that's a TV show but I love her life in the show!
6. Cats or dogs?: I don't have either but dogs!
7. How do you deal with writer’s block?: I brainstorm ideas for blog posts all the time and write them down in a note on my phone. The best ideas usually come at the most random of times too! But when there is a time that I have writers block, I focus my blogging time on meeting new bloggers and looking to them for some inspiration! Polyvore is also a go-to for me - I can always make a round-up post or favorite outfit post with that site!
8. Tell us an interesting fact about yourself…something people would be surprised to know about you!: I have a huge love for gymnastics!! My little sister is a very competitive gymnast and I live my dream of being a gymnast through her. It's been a huge part of my whole family's life ever since she started competing 8 years ago - and now I take every chance I can get to watch both her do what she loves and professional gymnastics as well. Lets go Gators!!
9. What one song will you always jam out to?: Absolutely anything by OneRepublic! They are and always will be my favorite band and I can never get enough of any of their songs! One in particular though is Good Life! I also am ridiculously obsessed with Drunk in Love by Beyonce!
10. If you could make a dinner reservation with one famous person, who would it be?: Ryan Tedder, no questions asked!

Today I decided to round up some of my favorite products that dress up a desk/office space! I tried to stick with a gold theme because gold accents on a desk seem to make the space so much more chic and dressed up. While office supplies like paper clips and a cute stapler are always fun to have, as a lover of everything for the home, a lamp like this one or a candle like this are such fun finds!! Mix office supplies with beautiful decor pieces and you can create one chic working space!
A backup and portable phone charger is one of my favorite things to carry around and a cute one like this Lilly Pulitzer battery is adorable!
And let me just say, a planner like this one is absolutely necessary on a desk! There is so many cute planners out there and I'm a huge planner supporter - if I didn't write everything down and plan things out, I'm not sure how I would ever get things done!

Bloomingdale's Friends & Family!

Pretty Pops of Pastels!

It is officially SPRING! Even though in NY it definitely doesn't feel like it... I'm still SO excited! Everywhere I look there is pastel colored clothing, shoes and accessories which are all so bright and fresh and are becoming a big trend this season. In honor of Spring and the weekend, here's some of my favorite pastel items that I think every closet should have!

I love these pieces so much! There is nothing better than a pastel crossbody for the Spring - I also love this Tory Burch crossbody that doubles as a wallet! Bright colored pants are such a statement piece themselves, too! I love pairing them with a cute pair of wedges like these Steve Maddens or these adorable Charles David wedges!

Spring Cleaning & Organizing 101!

Happy Hump Day! Halfway till the weekend, hang in there! Today is one of my days off and I figured it was time to start facing the facts...Spring officially begins Friday which means it's time for some Spring cleaning and organization! Since my bedroom is already getting a makeover this has been a process for months but sunny days and warmer (yes, 40's and 50's feels warm!) weather has given me some motivation! Here's some of my top cleaning and organizing tips to keep in mind when doing your Spring cleaning!

1. If you haven't worn it in a year, lets be honest...you aren't going to! There's some great charities who take clothes for great causes like Salvation Army and Big Brother Big Sister who love to collect gently used clothing - you can even most likely get a tax deduction!
2. Buy fun hangers to make your closet prettier! Different types of hangers like these come in handy too when hanging pants, scarves and clothes that wrinkle easily!
3. If you have the room, displaying your shoes instead of storing them makes you enjoy keeping a closet clean and tidy. Tip: get some packing paper (even regular printer paper can work!) and crinkle it up and place in your shoes that need to keep their form - I find this extremely helpful especially with flats and sandals (like the Tory Miller) that lose shape if laid flat! If you don't have the room to do this, this article has some crazy cool ideas on how you can store shoes while saving space!
4. Tip #3 goes for purses too - I stuff ALL of my purses with packing paper and they keep their shape perfectly!
5. If you have a lot of jewelry that constantly gets tangled and your earring backs go missing on the daily, then you need a jewelry armoire! Seriously, mine changed my life! These armoires make for wonderful organization and they look pretty, too. If you don't have room for a standing armoire, try a hanging one like this one!
6. If you have a candle obsession like me then you probably know about the candle deal that Bath and Body Works almost always has! For me, it's super important to switch out my winter candles to spring ones for me to actually feel like spring has sprung! Best part is, they just came out with their new Hawaii scent line which, let me tell you, is INSANELY amazing! While there, check out their wall flowers too! They are amazing for bedrooms and bathrooms! They even have a deal going on right now for $1 shipping on a $25 purchase with code OAHUFUN!
7. This is my favorite time of year because everything fun is on its way, but you can also feel like you just got a new mattress for free! Flip your mattress over while spring cleaning and I guarantee you'll start sleeping better!
8. I'll admit it, I'm a makeup hoarder. Which is exactly why I use this time of year to completely clean out my makeup bins! Some things last forever while some well...they just need to go! It also helps so that you know what you need next time you go to CVS/Sephora!
9. Clean windows = more sunshine! I scrub clean my windows every spring and while Windex does the job, you can barely tell there's even glass separating you from the sunshine when you use this mixture: mix 1 part white vinegar and 1 part hot water in an empty spray bottle, grab a sponge and scrub brush and get started! Tedious, but so worth it!
10. I got this next idea from my little sister but it actually makes cleaning SO much fun! Create a timelapse video on your phone and watch it when you're done!

Spring 2015: Pops of color!

I hope everyone's weekend has been wonderful! My Sunday's almost always consist of shopping (it is completely out of hand) and this weekend I'm looking for my first Spring handbag! I like to splurge on one handbag per season, and then find good deals for the other bags I buy. I find that by the end of the year, I then have four brand new handbags that I know I'll have for so many years! As I'm getting ready to leave for the mall I wanted to do a handbag roundup of my favorite bags for this Spring! I hope you love them as much as I do!

Pops of pastel and bright colors are such a big 2015 trend and I am loving it!! These bags can all be worn dressed up or down and they are definitely worth their prices! Are there any bags you love for this Spring? I'd love to see them! Enjoy! XOXO

DIY Mug Lovin'

Today in NY it is a balmy 46 (can you believe I'm calling 46 balmy?!) degrees and it feels SO good! Since the cold has had me hanging out indoors, I've been hung up on lots of DIY projects and have collected so many things to do these projects but never got around to doing any of them. I decided to start my DIY monogram mug and let me tell you, it is my absolute favorite project I've ever done! It's so fun to make and even more fun to see how it turns out. The best part is, it's super inexpensive to make - and in my opinion you can never have too many pretty mugs!
Place a sticky letter(s) onto your mug, pick a colored sharpie and start drawing dots surrounding your letter(s)! Super easy and super pretty!
