How to Make the Most Out of the Final Weeks of Summer

While a lot of people are stoked for fall, I am SO not ready for summer to end! This is how I feel every single year - the warm, beautiful days of summer are quickly coming to an end and instead of harping on that, I try and enjoy every single sunshine filled day that I can! There's some thing so difficult about transitioning out of summer - the season so many of us wait for all year long. And if you're a die hard lover of sun, sand and the sea, the good news is we technically have until mid-September to savor the summer.

I do love the fall and all of the autumn related things that go along with the season, but I'll keep summer for as long as I can. Here's some of the ways you can savor summer and end it in the best ways possible!

Get outside

An obvious one to start, but most especially if you live somewhere that experiences all four seasons you HAVE to spend as much time in the warm, fresh air as possible! And while it's an obvious one, it's extremely easy to get caught up inside - whether it's just so hot, or you work inside and don't have to go out. Since the warmth isn't going to last much longer, spending as much time outside as possible no matter what you're doing will probably end up making for some of the very best summer memories you have!

Even if you only get outside for 30 minutes on some days, make it a priority to get outside. Watch the sunrise/sunset or eat dinner on your back porch. It's REALLY the little things!

Buy summer clearance items

With all of THE cutest fall pieces coming out - cardigans, booties, all the velvet goodness and trends - it seems silly to say to buy summer clothes and accessories in the end of August. BUT, hear me out. ;)
With so many amazing new trends and styles arriving for fall, the summer items are all being heavily discounted. It's a great time to find awesome summer deals to stock up on both to rock for the rest of the season AND to have for next season. Here's some of my current sale favs:

Have a final summer BBQ/party

Before everyone gets back into their "normal" routines and schedules, have all of your friends and fam over for your favorite kind of get together! Make your favorite cocktails, swim and enjoy the weather and each other's company. Plan and do all sorts of summery things (a couple of s'mores never hurt ;) and make the very most of it.

Take a last minute trip

Last minute is pretty much my middle name - I plan and do things SO late and I wish I knew why! But sometimes the most spontaneous things end up being the best. Plan a quick trip somewhere - check out the Groupon deals; they have some amazing prices as summer winds down and they try to sell any remaining August/early September dates out that they can. If that's too much planning so last minute (I hear ya), plan a quick and easy road trip to somewhere you've been dying to go! These trips end up being some of the best, even though not having a set plan even gives me a bit of anxiety!

Reflect and make your summer memories last

My sister and I have been making GoPro videos every summer for the past few years and it's been SO much fun! If you've used a GoPro/camera for your adventures this summer, or even if you just have a ton of pictures, make a fun video (I use iMovie!) or photo book to have and to cherish until next summer rolls around.

You can also take a minute to think about how much you've grown, or what has changed for the better - and everything that you've done that you'll hold as a memory. Every day is a blessing and these summer days may seem short, but there's always a story that they hold.

What are you doing to enjoy the final weeks of summer? Make them count! ;)

XOXO -A

  19. Summers come with lots of excitement but during enjoyment, sometimes we forget to take care of skin. As a result of this, the skin becomes dull and could become the reason of cellulite. So it's essential to use appropriate skin cream like Dermology cellulite solution not to prevent skin form cellulite but to make skin healthy and soft.
