Fall Trends Wardrobe Checklist

I have ALL of the fall feels lately! I'm usually still hanging on to every summer piece I have at this point, and I still am wearing sandals and tees every chance I get but the cool breeze and getting to wear cozy sweaters and a cute pair of booties is giving me all of the heart eyes! I still wear maybe more "summery" things, like white (those Labor Day rules have GOT to go!), just in a more seasonable style. Transitional wardrobes are essential for this time of year, but I really love seeing all of the fall trends and how to work those in to classic, fall looks.

Seasonal trends are so fun to watch evolve, but there's some things you should always consider when buying trendy pieces! Here's some tips and trends to shop all Autumn long:


3 Tips for shopping fall trends:


1. Make sure it's a piece you'll get a lot of use out of. Will you still wear it when it maybe isn't as trendy? AKA, is it enough of your style to wear it time and time again? Trends aren't meant to be timeless, but if you're going to buy a trendy piece to add to your wardrobe you want to make sure you'll get good use out of it.

2. Go through what you already own. See what you have for the upcoming season, decide what you'll keep and what you'll donate and go from there when you go shopping! Nothing is worse than walking into a store and thinking, "don't I have something JUST like this already...?" - haha! Donating things you definitely won't wear also makes more room in your closet which means more shopping! See where I'm going with this? ;)

3. Check for dupes! This one is huge! Designer dupes are all over the place, especially so for trends. Target and Amazon usually have pretty amazing dupes (have you seen my Target designer dupes from this summer? They were on POINT!), but the point here is that with trends that may not last more than a few seasons, you don't want to spend a fortune if you don't have to. You can get the look of a trending accessory without spending a fortune!

On to the fun part - some of the best fall 2017 trends! I've been seeing these categories pop up everywhere, and they're in every store by every brand lately! These are, in my opinion, the hottest trends so far:

Fall 2017 Trends to add to your closet:


Cozy Sweaters & Cardigans (#8, 10): every year I buy a ton of sweaters and cardis because I LIVE in them! They're great to layer with during this awkward time of year when it's cooler in the morning, but can get a bit warmer in the afternoons and also when it's super cold and you need to layer up. You can dress them down with a pair of jeans and sneakers, or a little dressier with booties/heels for a night out! I can't even begin to describe how many amazing, chunky and cozy cardigans I've seen this season so far. They may just be one of the most rationalized purchases though - you know you'll get a TON of use out of them, AKA every single day! ;)

I've been so excited about this lavender ruffle cardigan from Topshop. I got it during the Nordstrom Sale and it's hands down one of my favorite purchases! I love the color and I've found that although it's bright, it's fun to style this time of year too. And in the early spring when it's still chilly, I'll wear it then also! BUT, if this isn't your favorite it also comes in black and it's worth every penny!

Utility Jacket(s) (#2): I made jackets plural because if you ask me, you can NEVER have too many of these! They're another great layering piece and can you just stand the adorable bell sleeves on this one?! When I saw it I could have screamed from excitement, ha! This one is the "garden sage" color - so different and so beautiful.

Fall Handbag (#3): you guys know I like to buy one or two "staple" bags every season that I know I'll have for years and years, and this season we're seeing tons of velvet, shoulder bags from every brand, deep burgundies - like this INCREDIBLY beautiful Kate Spade shoulder bag - and gold hardware galore. I absolutely L O V E these handbag trends! Here's some of the most beautiful ones I've seen:


Slides and Mules (#5, 6, 7): possibly the most comfy, easy trend ever! They're so easy to 1. wear 2. pack for trips and 3. mix and match with different looks. They're incredibly popular and there's *so* many to choose from!

Velvet (#4): when I was younger, I begged my mom for every velvet article of clothing I could find in Limited Too. #truestory - I'm sooo excited that it's so trendy now because it's beautiful and so classy! It's great for the holidays, wearing now and pretty much always if you ask me. ;) I featured this cold shoulder velvet dress as one of my favorite looks to wear to a September/fall wedding; this shade of green is stunning on anyone! I want all of the velvet and I know I can't be the only one; here's some more of the very beautiful velvet musts your closet needs this fall:


Autumnal Eye Shadow Palette (#9): I'm not one to wear eye shadow on the daily, but when I do (especially during this time of year) you better believe it's going to include some pretty shades of shimmering blush!

Booties (#1): I promise, there's NO such thing as too many boots and booties! ;) These camel/gray booties ('new foxy' online!) are the perfect everyday-wear booties - the heel is tiny, and they're SO comfortable! You'll get a ton of use out of these and they can be dressed up also, even without a huge heel. But for booties with a heel, give me anything with a block heel! Like these:


Leopard Print (#11): this is another like the velvet trend, I basically LIVED in leopard print in middle school and now it's back and classier than ever! *insert praising hands emoji here*

These fall into the slides/mules category as well, and out of all of the leopard print slides I've seen this season I'm pretty sure these are my favorite! They have a scalloped detailing and they're just under $100. It's such a fun print to add some texture or a pattern pop with any look.

Pops of Red (#13): red is, well, red hot for fall (yes I actually just said that LOL)! I've never been much of a red-wearing-girl (but burgundy is my ish!) but similar to adding a pop of leopard print to a look, that's how I feel about red this season! This Tory Burch crossbody is the perfect out-on-the-town bag; I LOVE this collection. I bought it in the larger size in black last year and it's one of my favorite bags I own.

Statement Jewelry (#12): I know it's a year-round trend, but it's so interesting to see the colors and styles that come out each season! I love these black and gold ball drop earrings that I got c/o BaubleBar; they're the perfect fall earrings!

  22. Winters are ultimately a complete package of overcoats, jackets and lots of loaded clothes. But it really doesn't mean that you can't look good. Style is something that can be flaunted in every season. You just need a really good collection of womens trendy clothing, classy accessories. That's it!!!

  24. This place is a very nice place for a wedding and worth looking into. While I didn't have my own wedding here, I've seen the place in all its decked out glory. On a smaller scale, we had our prom there. These truly are beautiful New York wedding venues with fabulous views.
