I fully admit it - I have an obsession with fonts. I love downloading tons of different options, mix and matching and playing around with words in all of my downloads. Maybe that's just the wannabe-graphic-designer in me, but I know I can't be the only one! ;) Finding fonts you love is easy, but finding fonts that you love that are free isn't always as easy. I buy some of my fonts (my favorite place to buy is Creative Market) but there's SO many free options out there - all it really takes is an idea of what you're looking for. I often get asked about some of the fonts I use, so here are 12 of my favorite fonts that are totally FREE to download:
In terms of san serif fonts, my favorite and go-to font forever and ever will be Lato. It's simple, it looks pretty and it matches other fancier fonts. Moonflower is another font I use often - it's fun, but still simple enough to pair with other fonts.
Bodoni is another one of those go-to fonts for me; it looks pretty (and really very different which is cool) when you use capitals with it versus when you italicize it versus it's bold form, etc. When you download your fonts it's important to make sure you download all of the forms *if* you're given that option! You'll thank me later when you go to use the font and have lots of choices to pick from. ;)
Playlist script is the perfect semi-italic script that's still readable (I hate when there's pretty scripts that you just can NOT read!) but it makes a statement. I like using this font for key words on pins especially.
Happy weekend and happy creating, now that you have 12 fonts to try out! ;)
