Transitional Pieces to Add to Your Closet: Winter to Spring Fashion

Making the transition in your wardrobe from winter to spring can be challenging - especially if you live somewhere that has cold winters! In New York it's hard to know what to expect, but there's usually cold days into April. This winter we've had unseasonably warm temperatures, but I know it's going to be a while until this warmth is consistent. It's hard to plan what to wear when you literally can go from it being 65 and sunny one day to 40 and chilly the next! That's where transitional pieces come in - AKA fun clothes and accessories that make you crave spring, but still can work for these late winter months.

Tassel Earrings // Converse // Kate Spade Bag // Fringe Crop Jeans // Plaid Scarf // Essie Gel Polish // Long Denim Jacket // Navy Bow Sweater // NARS Lip Pencil

Tassel Earrings: you can never go wrong with pretty little tassels, but the color of these are SO amazing. They scream spring but they're subtle enough to wear even when the weathers still not cooperating!

Converse: as you probably know by now, I LIVE in these! I wore them all throughout Italy this summer, all fall and even a lot this winter since we've gotten so lucky temperature-wise. They come in a ton of colors and at just under $50, they're hands down my favorite transitional pair of shoes and probably my all time favorites too.

Kate Spade Bag: when I saw this bag during the NYFW presentation I fell in LOVE. I want every color (there's black and coral versions too!) but this cognac shade is perfect for year round wear. I'll be carrying this beauty (once it comes in... hurry up UPS!) throughout this transitional season change nonstop!

Fringe Crop Jeans: I mean who wouldn't love these?! I've been seeing fringe jeans pop up everywhere lately and this pair is super affordable, stretchy and so comfortable! They'll look cute with a pretty bomber jacket and some flats while it's still cool, and equally as cute with a fun tank when the weathers warmer!

Plaid Scarf: scarves like this one that are cute and colorful but still can keep you warm are essential for weather transitions! Especially if you're out early in the morning or when it still gets chilly at night. Linen blend scarves are perfect transitional pieces because while they're not as heavy, they still keep you warm and look super cute at the same time.

Essie Gel Polish: I know I can't possibly be the only one who struggles with nail colors this time of year! It's too close to spring for any reds/burgundies, but also too far yet from spring to do a bright colored mani. I love nude/rose pink shades this time of year! I also LOVE the way a pretty light gray looks or even a pretty periwinkle shade like this one looks.

Long Denim Jacket: I tried this on in the store a few days ago and I wasn't sure how I felt about it at first. Then I tried it with white jeans and wedges and LOVED it! It's a fun twist on your typical denim jacket, and it's really perfect for late winter/early spring temperatures. It has a pretty little tie detail too!

Navy Bow Sweater: this is hands down the cutest sweater I have ever, ever seen! It comes in three colors (navy, lavender and coral) and the bow detail is just the cutest thing, am I right?! It's light weight too so it's great for those "I still need long sleeves" days. ;)

NARS Lip Pencil: this ones similar to the nail polish dilemma, but I love light pink and nude shaded lip colors for this time of year! They match everything and they're perfect shades no matter what season you're transitioning into. This NARS velvet matte lip pencil will definitely be on repeat for a while!

Transition pieces can be so fun to style! What's your favorite piece/accessory to bring in a new season?

XOXO
