The Newest Innovative Beauty Product: Hi Mirror

This post has been sponsored by the PRIMP Network. All opinions as always are my own.

New technology and electronic gadgets are fun and all, but if you're a beauty lover then you haven't really experienced a fun gadget until you try the Hi Mirror! I had never heard of this brand before, but now it's one of my favorite gadgets and it's ridiculously fun to use. I like to think of it as my very own Sephora beauty consultant - it tells you what your skin is lacking in and tips to help your daily skincare routine. Yeah, THAT futuristic! ;) I've been using it for a few weeks now and I'm still learning things about it. If you like to stay on top of your beauty game, you *need* this in your life!

What the Hi Mirror does:

The Hi Mirror is pretty much your very own virtual beauty consultant set up in a two-in-one mirror. The mirror comes with an HD camera (on top) that takes images of your face to analyze. Upon taking an image of your face, the mirror can tell you all about your skin - what you should be doing/adding to your beauty routine, things to focus on like dark lines, redness, etc. and on top of that it even can suggest skincare products to use to improve the appearance of your skin based on the concerns it tells you about! If that isn't the coolest thing in the world, I really don't know what is. Each time you analyze your skin, the Hi Mirror keeps track so that you can see your progress (which is an awesome tool to tell you if your new skincare products are working!) and to keep track of your routine.

The Hi Mirror looks for a variety of things in your skin when it analyzes your face; clarity, healthiness, firmness, texture and the brightness level of your skin.

Hi Mirror works totally hands free which is such a cool and high tech feature - you use the sensor located on the bottom of the mirror and make different hand motions to navigate around the mirror. There's an entire tutorial that you can always refer back to on the Hi Mirror too which was so helpful at first to learn the different motions!

How it works:

To start, you can download the Hi Mirror app in your phones App Store and create a login. With each login, you can update your progress by taking a new skin analysis picture or just use what you have at the moment. There's a ton of features on the HiMirror, one of the coolest being that it uses facial and voice recognition. You can even do a skin analysis right after your shower because it's hands free and you don't have to worry about getting the mirror wet! The camera can open and close AND I think we need to talk about how pretty the little details of the Hi Miror are, because it's rose gold and I'm in love!

Installing your mirror:

It's super easy to set the Hi Mirror up too - it comes with *super* detailed and helpful instructions and it only takes about 10 minutes to set it up once you pick a spot to put it in. You can hang it on the wall, on a mirror (like in your bathroom like I did) or even stand it up on your vanity/desk. Where ever you hang it, it's important to make sure that the surface can support 5.5 pounds, which is the weight of the Hi Mirror.

It comes with a large piece of cardboard that helps you to mount the Hi Mirror evenly and high enough up for you to reach. Once you tape the card board onto your surface, you can simply mount the bracket and not worry about putting it evenly or at the right spot.

The Hi Mirror App:

When you download the app to your phone, you can create an account and easily track your skincare analysis, product recommendations and see your Beauty Box. This is where you'll manage the skincare routine that Hi Mirror suggests based on your skin analysis. It's so cool to open it up and see what kind of things you can try - especially since it's on the app and you can easily walk into a store and buy products without wondering what'll be good, wanting to test things out and spending 9 hours in Sephora.

Another awesome feature (both on the app and on the Hi Mirror itself) is the weather feature. It shows the weather based on your location and it'll even tell you to bring an umbrella or sunscreen if needed! It's so cool and when I walk into my bathroom each morning I sort of feel like I'm living in Smart House (anyone remember that Disney movie?! My favorite!!).

Helpful tips and tricks:

Make sure you mount the mirror at eye level. The cardboard mounting guide that comes with the Hi Mirror is SO incredibly helpful and really makes a difference in where the mirror gets hung. The camera is located on the top of them mirror, so you want to make sure you can comfortably be in view of it to take your analysis pictures.

Mount the mirror where you have good lighting. Natural lighting is great if you can, but either way you want to make sure that where ever you'll be taking skin analysis pictures, you have decent lighting that isn't too bright and where it isn't too dark. My bathroom is the perfect spot for mine because I get such awesome natural light in there all day long. The better the lighting, the better your picture comes out and the better the mirror will recommend products.

Take your analysis image before doing your makeup. You want the analysis to reflect your skin, so it's best to take your progress pictures before you do your makeup. Pro tip: take the progress pictures around the same time each time you take one; I take mine in the morning.

Use the music and news apps. As if the Hi Mirror wasn't cool enough, it has music and news features! How cool?! It's super innovative so they're always adding new things, like Spotify which is coming soon (!!!). The mirror also shows news highlights and breaking news which is so cool to see!

This is by far the coolest beauty gadget I've heard of/seen/tried! It's so much fun and there's a few other products that Hi Mirror has too that go great with your mirror like their Smart Scale and newest skin acre product, Hi-Skin. You can shop all of these products and get your mirror today HERE!
You can also keep up to date with the newest features and happenings with Hi Mirror by following them on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and YouTube.

Have you tried the HiMirror yet? I'd love to know what you think!

XOXO

  2. I love the concept of this mirror, but from the reviews I've heard the technology still needs some work. It is a great idea and would love to try it. I think one of the things I can see needing improvement is dealing with lighting. You can't guarantee every bathroom is going to provide sufficient lighting to give the mirror a good read. Can't wait to see how they update it in the future.
