Save vs. Splurge: Winter Edition

Over the summer I shared a summer edition of save vs. splurge and it was SO much fun to make! It seriously never, ever fails to amaze me just how many dupes are out there for super high-end products. I love upscale shopping just as much as the next girl, but I also love a good sale and since my student loan payments officially have started, I love these save vs. splurge round ups even more! ;) I found 9 awesome dupes for much more expensive designer versions and I'm loving them for winter:

Plaid Blanket Scarf ($58.50) vs. Burberry Scarf ($650)
Steve Madden OTK Boots ($99.95) vs. Stuart Weitzman OTK Boots ($798)
Crystal BaubleBar Choker ($68) vs. Swarovski Crystal Choker ($350)
Black & White Shoulder Bag ($99) vs. Prada Shoulder Bag ($1,480)
Cat Eye Sunnies ($59) vs. Rose Gold Cat Eye Sunnies ($650)
Blue Topaz Pandora Ring ($90) vs. Ble Topaz & Rose Gold Ring ($1,750)
Wool Fedora ($175) vs. Maison Michel Fedora ($515)
Elf Kabuki Brush ($6) vs. Too Faced Kabuki Brush ($34)
Steve Madden Loafers ($89.95) vs. Gucci Loafers ($595)

Let's just talk for a sec about this Elf kabuki brush... I've been using it since last April and it's SO good. I've tried expensive, more "high end" kabuki brushes from Sephora before and I haven't liked any as much as I love my Elf one! It's only $6 so it's easy to replace if and when needed and it seriously beats out all of the more expensive versions, even the Too Faced version that has awesome reviews!

I'm dreaming about this color-block Prada bag but I was so excited when I found an almost exact replica *and* one that's on sale! It's about the same size, too. The same goes for these Steve Madden over-the-knee boots. They're so cute and come in a bunch of different colors - the best part is they're just under $100! I love the Stuart Weitzman version too (and stare at them with heart eyes every time I walk past the display in Nordstrom) but the Steve Madden version is seriously so good - if not better! They're super comfortable and I actually like the colors in person a bit more.

The new Gucci Marmont line has been all the rage lately and honestly, why wouldn't it be?! The line is amazing and I looove everything from it, including these loafers (including the fur embellished pair, *so* cute). Since they're so popular I've noticed a lot of brands are replicating them in some way and Steve Madden does it again with their version of the loafers! They come in a few colors and the tassel detail is just the cutest.

Have you seen any awesome dupes this season?
XOXO

  18. I just needed a new kabuki brush and I bought the ELF retractable one. I'm hate to say it but I just don't like it. I debated between that one and the one you feature and I think I made the wrong choice. I'm going to pick up the one you have and love and try that one out.

  21. ELF brushes are some of my favorite. They are so affordable, yet work so well. When it comes to very trendy things I tend to go for saving rather than splurging. I like to leave the splurging for more classic items that won't go out of style next month.

  23. omy! this are fab! the Swarovski Crystal Choker is very expensive hahaha but I love it! lol. good comparison! They are almost just the same looks but the price differs!

  24. Oh my goodness! Those "Save" items are real winners in my book. I can't believe anyone would even spend that much money on items like those when you can get something similar. Let me stress on the word, "similar." There is a big difference when you compare items as "similar" rather than "fakes" or "knock offs."
