How to Spring Clean Your Life in a Week

What exactly is it about spring that makes us want to organize and declutter everything we own? I don't really know the answer to that, but I don't hate it! This spring has started out really weird weather wise and I know the majority of the country can agree with that (and if you can't then I'm not quite sure exactly how to express how jealous I am!) and bad weather = weird funks and moods. Since we can't control the weather or do much other than pray for some warmth (make that STAT...) the one thing we can do is work on is clean out our lives in more ways than just organizing your closet. Here's what to take a closer look at and consider giving a good "spring cleaning" to this season:

How to Spring Clean Your Closets

This may take the longest amount of time, but if you dedicate a few solid hours to it you can get into the groove of things and feel like the most put together girl in the world. ;) I like to start by going through things and throwing things away - old discolored clothes, boxes, etc. Make piles of things you know you'll rarely or never wear and bag them to donate (it feels so good to give things to those you know will appreciate them!) and find a spot for everything. If something doesn't have a spot, think twice about if you really need it - that simple rule of thumb has helped me declutter SO much crap out of my closet and it feels so good!

How to Spring Clean Your Digital Life

So much of our lives is spent online that taking a second look at your digital footprint is crucial this time of year and just as important as cleaning your carpets is! First, go through your computer's desktop and delete delete D E L E T E! With what's left, sort into folders and then back everything up. I recommend this external hard drive to store your data - it's slim, easy to set up and use and has more space than you'll ever need! I always back things up in two different places *just* in case - I use both Google Drive, iCloud and my external.

As painful as it is to say and hear, at some point or another you have to tackle your email inbox. I won't even tell you how many messages I have in my inbox because it's LITERALLY embarrassing... It's so easy to get out of hand, so sit down and take care of the madness. Start by unsubscribing to things you don't use or care about any more; Unroll.Me is one of the most helpful tools to do all of the unsubscribing for you! Highly recommend using it!

Do the same with your phone - delete apps you don't use, pictures you don't need, old notes you made and find yourself not only with more storage but feeling oddly refreshed too!

How to Spring Clean Your Beauty & Makeup Products

I know for a lot of this, this may actually be the kicker... Depending on how you organize and store your beauty products, something like this sliding drawer organizer for under your sink or in your linen closet could work wonders. You'd likely need a lot of them, but the pull-out drawers are ideal!

Start by finishing almost empties or throwing them away if you don't plan to (no reason to hold on to them any longer!) and getting rid of things you haven't reached for or that are older. Once you've narrowed your collection down, sort your products and store them accordingly - I always like to keep things I reach for daily in a spot I can easily access them!

How to Spring Clean Your Daily Routine

I'm one of those people who loves a routine and who hates change. I despise anything changing, but sometimes all you really need is one change to switch up how you think and act. After a long winter, a change in your daily life could do some SERIOUS good. There's nothing more boring or repetitive than the same routine for months on end - no matter how big or small, one change could give your brain the exact motivation it needs to live better every day.

How to Spring Clean Your Desk

This one may take a little bit longer... Especially if you live by the "I'm too busy to clean this desk off!" motto... It is a thing, right...??

Buy file folders, file organizers, and pretty desk accessories (like these super chic office decor finds ALL from Amazon!) and get to shredding papers you don't need, filing away important documents and emptying out your desk drawers, AKA where you hide snacks and throw clutter to hide it. ;)

How to Spring Clean Your Finances

This is a big one because there could be some super simple, mindless ways to save yourself hundreds of dollars per month - for example, do you have any subscriptions you pay for but don't use? (guilty - ugh) Stop the madness and cancel those ASAP! Take a closer look at your monthly budget and if you don't already have one, create a spreadsheet with your expenses. Not only will this be handy when next year's tax season rolls around, it'll hold you accountable and really make you realize what you're spending and what you can cut back on. It also helps you better manage your monthly costs and budget for any unexpected things that come up - and those unexpected things can totally include a mall trip! No shame here!

Another simple thing you can do to help give you some peace of mind AND stay on top of your credit cards and checking account - set up auto pay on your credit cards! You won't have to worry about forgetting to make a payment or racking up interest.

Some other things to consider giving a good, deep spring cleaning to...

1. Your bedding! Now's the time to get new sheets and pillow cases - you deserve the refresh.

2. Consider getting your carpets and furniture professionally cleaned. It'll save you time and likely your sanity.

3. Toxic people and relationships. I could go on and on about this one, but it's pretty self explanatory and oh so necessary!

4. Your kitchen cabinets, because we all have an expired box of cereal or cake mix package in there somewhere.

5. On a warm day (God willing; seriously it's mid April!) open up ALL of your windows in your entire house. Get that cross breeze going, air out that winter stench and you'll feel 10x better.

Get moving and get cleaning - it'll get you motivated and leave you feeling better than ever!
XOXO -A

  16. There is lot to do. You can hire transfer helpers to make your life easier. You can get them to do the house hold chores while you being busy with official duties. You can get them at a reasonable rate.

  17. There are certainly a lot of details like that to take into consideration. That is a great point to bring up. I offer the thoughts above as general inspiration but clearly there are questions like the one you bring up where the most important thing will be working in honest good faith. I don?t know if best practices have emerged around things like that, but I am sure that your job is clearly identified as a fair game. Both boys and girls feel the impact of just a moment’s pleasure, for the rest of their lives.

  18. I love the anticipation of getting out all those essential spring cleaning items from storage and putting them to work.Greg and I went on Help With My Coursework a scavenger hunt, one that included yard sales, thrift store dreampaths, garage sales (his favorite thing), half price bins at Target , Goodwill , etc... We also picked up some stuff here & there along the way. There is something about seeing your house looking so bare in the spring that is strangely satisfying.
