Traditional Glam Christmas Tablescape

The very best part of the holiday season is time with family, celebrating and of course all of the lights and decor! I've been working on my dining room table setup for a few weeks now and I'm SO happy with how it turned out! I'm the kind of person who likes a bunch of elements from different styles and I also like to change it up every year - probably makes sense as to why I'm always changing my furniture and decor throughout the year too, hah! For this year's Christmas tablescape I decided on a mix between traditional - your typical reds, greens and garland - with some glam mixed in. I'm a sucker for anything gold, delicate, sparkly and whatever screams luxury/glam. I had a ton of ideas and knew what I wanted it to look like and I'm so happy that it turned out even better!

A couple of things: I plan on leaving my table set like this for the entire season. Don't know what that means for my eating situation or my "keeping all my random things" situation... But I'll figure it out, this table is much more important! ;) Second thing is with the help of my amazing, crafty mom, I made this centerpiece and I'm SO PROUD of how it turned out. It took me a lot of trips to Target, searching through pages and pages on all sorts of home related stores online and mixing and matching until I found exactly what I was looking for to get it right but as you can tell by how many images I included, I can't get enough!

Let's start with the centerpiece... I had looked online at a bunch of different centerpieces, assuming I'd just buy one that I liked, but I had such a specific idea of what I wanted and I could not find exactly that anywhere... So I decided to make my own! I got a bunch of different garlands and pieces to go in it and put it together piece by piece. I got one, long piece of garland and cut it in half to start with. It's just a traditional green, garland and I knew I wanted to add to it so I got a TON of different pieces to try out and honestly, only ended up using half of the things I bought/returned what I didn't end up liking.

To add some light to it, I found these mini star lights that are battery powered (and also have a timer, so convenient) and weaved it into the garland. The battery pack part just sits tucked into the center of the candelabra! The red berries actually came from a tree I have in my backyard - it's one of my favorite parts about my home/the winter because the red berries up against fresh, white snow is beyond stunning. I cut/washed them and stuck them into the centerpiece, but I linked a couple of options that I had seen in stores that looked just like the real deal.

**There's tons of links at the bottom of this post with EVERY single piece I used to make this centerpiece!! Also, Michael's has a TON of really great pieces to create the perfect centerpiece. Be sure to check for their latest coupons here!

I went with the traditional Christmas colors this year and added a LOT of gold and pops of white elements to satisfy the "glam" factor I wanted to have. A majority of my Christmas decor I use year to year is gold and there's LOTS of glitter, does that really surprise you?! Hah! I wanted something different but bright and fun and still festive and I know I said it, but I really love how it turned out!

And we all know, it's ALL in the details...

Originally, I had no plans or intentions of making the napkins look like bows.. But once I saw how well it worked and cute it looked, I went with it! And clearly I can NOT get enough of these adorable wreath napkin rings! They're seriously so beautiful - they're beaded and even prettier in person than they look online! They're on major sale right now so grab them fast!

My Olivia Pope (seriously that's what I thought when I picked these out LOL) wine glasses are ones I've had but I use them for every dinner party/get together with the girls and they're my favorite!

Look closely - this table runner has velvet trim! It's soo beautiful and it fits a large centerpiece perfectly since it's wide in width. And you wouldn't guess it by looking at them in pictures OR in person, but both the gold chargers and the gold dotted plates are PLASTIC. They look like glass but are much more practical! The gold dotted plates are out of stock online right now, but they're linked below just in case they come back! Here is a very similar glass set that I bought originally, and then found a MUCH less expensive version in the plastic ones. But I'm keeping these anyway since they're a really nice set.

This time of year is so busy - between holiday parties, Christmas shopping and Q4 craziness, it's really hard to find time to just relax. Yet that's what this time of year is all about, and taking a minute to sit down and look at your holiday decor somehow makes all of that stress and the nonstop thoughts of your mile long to-do list just go away for even a minute!
I hope my tablescape helps you to create yours and gives you the inspiration you need to re-create your own - let me know what you think about this traditional glam style - can it be a thing now?! Hah!

XOXO -A
