10 Things to do Every Sunday for a Productive Week

photo 10 Tips for a More Productive Week_zpsgqrblscx.jpg

For as long as I can remember, Sunday has always been considered the "Monday of the weekend" and Monday - forget it! Even though lazy Sundays are the best (especially in the Fall and winter when its cold outside) my perspective on Sundays has changed a LOT since I've gotten older and more specifically, since I started blogging. Sunday has taken on a whole new meaning to me now and instead of doing nothing on Sundays, I've found it's extremely beneficial to the upcoming week to not be lazy. I love blogging and love what I do so getting things done and working on Sundays isn't a hassle but more of an enjoyment. Working on my blog and in general gives me a sense of relaxation especially to know that its making me organized for the week.
Working hard is the key to success and this applies so much to being a blogger as well. With no work there's no progress and the only way to grow is working hard to meet your goals.

So, having a Sunday that is a nice combination of relaxing but also getting myself prepared and organized for the week is extremely important to me. By nature, I'm a planner. I plan everything and I make a plan to make plans. I have two planners that are filled to the rim and to get things done, I need to have it written down and scheduled into a to-do list. Call me crazy or call me a Virgo, but that's what I've found that works for me best.

Even if you aren't a big planner, I believe that you need to have some sort of plan to have a good, productive week. If I have things written out, clean and planned my mind isn't trying to go in a million directions which definitely puts me at ease! Here's 10 things I've found very helpful to do on a Sunday that will no doubt give you a productive week that you're prepared for:

  1. Set goals and write them down for the week, you'll be more likely to achieve them
  2. Clean your desktop - I tend to just quickly save images and documents to my desktop as I work on them and by the end of the week, my pretty background can't even be seen. Placing them into their folders gives you a clean slate to work with for the week
  3. Get a head start on your blog posts for the week. Whether it be writing a draft, editing or taking photos for the post(s), this is a HUGE stress reliever for me!
  4. Plan social media posts including ones for upcoming posts and for past posts as well (P.S. here is a great post on the importance of evergreen content that you can schedule too for the week ahead)
  5. Wash and change your sheets and clean up your room and bathroom to help you feel de-cluttered and organized. Jumping into bed on Sunday with clean sheets is the best feeling in the world, probably what I look forward to most!
  6. Pack your bag for school/work so you aren't adding an extra thing to remember during your busy morning routine
  7. Create a list of must-do items for the week along with a to-do list for every day of the week (roughly; things happen and change) so you can see what you have going on for the week
  8. Check the forecast for the week and plan your outfits, this is such a time saver and I've found it makes a huge difference
  9. Hang up clean clothes and get your closet back in order. If my closet isn't clean, I could nearly go crazy! When my closet is organized, I'm organized ha!
  10. Organize your work space and put away/file loose papers so they aren't looming over your head halfway through the week when there's a bunch of new things going on to get done

Is there anything you'd add to this list? What do you do on a Sunday to make sure your week is a manageable, great and organized week?

XOXO

  9. I love this! When Sunday comes around, I need to remember that this is my day to restart and prepare for the rest of the week. Simply by doing that, the rest of the week can ease on by!

  10. Love this, Virgo's unit :) I try to keep Sunday's pretty calm, I actually do all of the grocery shopping before the kids get up, so there is actually food in the house on Sunday morning, haha. Like you I love lists! I'm finding if I really prep for my blog posts, when it comes to writing them after the kids to go bed goes much smoother. Sunday is for editing pictures and getting the content together so when I write them during the week it goes so much faster.

  14. These are great ideas. It's so easy to be lazy on Sundays, but then you get completely slammed at the start of the week. My hubby and I also like to "check in" with each other about what we have going on in our upcoming week so we can support each other as much as possible and to keep us from living separate lives (as it is all too easy to do).

  23. These are really good tips for bloggers -- and pretty much anyone -- to follow.

Although I do most, I will admit that I often forget to check the forecast and it definitely kicks up my stress levels in the morning.

Oh, and I'm all for clean bedsheets. Nothing like sliding into them before bed.

  26. I use my 2016 Choices planner on Sunday to go over everything from the previous week and to plan for the next week. It was a struggle at first to be less lazy on Sunday but it is getting easier each week.

  30. My husband and I started this a few weeks ago. We:
Go over our schedule and figure out meals.
Put my smoothie greens in individual canning jars along with freezer bags of frozen fruit.
Put salad in same kind of jars.
Pick out outfits for week along with accessories.
Order from Amazon or other sites anything we need.
Pay bills, do any paperwork needed.
Clean house and do all laundry.
    Fill medication containers.
Plan dinner with daughter's family, picking a night that fits into the week.

My husband does the shopping usually on Saturday mornings.

  31. Great List. I love list and planning but something always seems to get in the way. As most bloggers who are just starting out, it's a one woman/man show. Between writing post, keeping up with social media, attending twitter chats and webinars; I find myself working late into the night. By Sunday I am exhausted. I am going to try you method and see if things work out better. Thanks for all the great tips, it may be exactly what I need.

  50. Great list! In addition to most of those, I like to meal plan and prep. I plan out meals for the week then head to the grocery store. I cook a few dinners and lunches and freeze them. Makes packing lunches and preparing dinner throughout the week less time consuming
