How to Recreate NYFW Looks

Fashion week in New York may be over, but it's still fashion season across the globe and right now more specifically in Paris! Oh how I wish I could be in Europe right now for that! There were so many trends on the runway and across the shows that I saw and loved, so I've been looking through store selections to find similar pieces to style. Whether the designer version just isn't available for purchase yet or you're looking for something similar, there's ways to find them! My favorite way that I've found to recreate looks so far is by using FlashFrames; but here's my top four ways to re-create these coveted looks:

1. Check out the trending sections at popular stores. This time of year, stores like Nordstrom and Bloomingdales are ALL about Fashion Week. These are two among many websites that have a ton of inspired looks from the runway shows. I always check out their trending sections and find so many good things there; at all price points too! A lot of stores will begin to do this also, so it's super easy as fashion season goes on to find trends. P.S. have you seen the adorable leopard prints that are all over this season?! Obsessed.

2. Choose by color palette. Different seasons have different popular color combos; this season there seem to be lots of deep reds and burgundy shades, jade greens and shades of taupe. There's also a ton of floral patterns which I LOVE! Take this and go to any store you like shopping at - I guarantee you'll see lots of the same! You can create your own looks inspired by fashion week just by picking shades from the same popular color palettes.

3. Check out your favorite stores first. I don't know about you, but I definitely have a set list of my favorite stores and places I like to shop... Before you think you have to go out of your comfort zone, see what your favorite places have. I was shopping with my sister in Forever 21 last week and I saw a TON of similar fashion week styles there!

4. Use online sources like FlashFrames. I wish websites like this existed for every single accessory and clothing item in the world! FlashFrames is an awesome online source that allows you to upload a picture of a pair of sunglasses you've seen (like on the runway), and based on the pair you've chosen, FlashFrames will give you a selection of similar frames at all different price points. From here, they'll take you to trusted retail websites to purchase which ever pair you pick. It's the coolest thing - and a way that I find a LOT of my sunnies!

It's seriously now so easy to be able to spot a certain style, and easily grab the frame you like! I have such a hard time finding sunnies I love because of the different shapes and styles that I like on my face. The first step is to find the pair you're looking to replicate. I love playing around on this site because it's so cool to see what other pairs are out there that are similar to what you're looking for. When you have the pair you want to replicate, simply upload the picture and search through the pages of results that FlashFrames gives you to choose from. When you see a pair you like, you can pick the price point you're comfortable with and head over to where they're sold. It's seriously so simple!

Every pair of sunglasses sold via FlashFrames is 100% authentic, which is great because you don't have to worry about not getting your moneys worth. I love this black pair of sunnies I got from FlashFrames - they're the exact kind of pair I wanted to add to my collection! They're an almost perfect dupe for a pair of designer sunnies I saw on the runway during NYFW. I love having lots of options when it comes to sunglasses because they're such an easy, interchangeable accessory and they're wearable year round!

  7. I've never heard of FlashFrames but it sounds pretty interesting. I have the hardest time buying sunglasses because the ones I find are either too big for my face or too small. Once I find a pair I usually wear them 24/7!

  10. This is only the second time I've read anything about FlashFrames, but my curiosity is piqued. I'm the worst with sunglasses, I end up breaking them all the time, so finding a well made, yet stylish pair is so important for me.

  21. Now I am well acquainted with the Flash Frames; thanks to you. Fashion should incorporated "personal" creativity, because fashion is nothing being creative.
